what's the point?

I don't understand the point of people on facebook/myspace/whatever who want to become e-friends, years and years after the actual friendship has ended. Like people I knew in high school, or even grade school - why would I want to be e-friends with them? I guess it is a nostalgia thing, like oh man remember in the tenth grade when we blah blah blah - who cares. That's what I feel like responding with whenever people send me requests. I always feel like, well there is a reason that we aren't friends anymore, due to space or time or just not having much in common.

This also goes for exes - I find it so weird when an ex emails me like HAY WHATS UP HOW YOU DOING and there's always a disclaimer like, "Not trying to start anything romantic!!" uh ok! I pretty much always ignore these too because I don't really see any point in "catching up" with someone with that kind of history. I think I am too pragmatic.

Anyway back to the old friends thing, this also applies to high school reunions. Again, what is the point. Everyone wants people to see how awesome their lives are. I think if your life was really awesome you probably wouldn't take the time off from it to hang out with a bunch of people you have nothing but the past in common with. But then look I wrote this entry, which is just to prove that I am better than people who need to have real friends.
