listen, i know he's brilliant. i have loved him for a long time, even when he's so so and makes questionable acting choices (although his renfield was good, and i enjoyed his turn in 'mystery men') but i just don't think it's a stellar idea for scarlett johanssen to cover tom waits. i hope lohan doesn't cover leonard cohen. and justin timberlake leaves joni mitchell alone. who the hell is this geared toward? as a tom waits fan (and yes, i have his album with crystal gayle) i will not be buying this. and she's done aiight on SNL monologues in the past, but so has christopher walken and he is classy enough to avoid the solo recording album. i think. but i don't want to hear her sing. i like my actresses like i like my breakfast - no syrup touching the eggs, and no solo albums crossing over with the acting. separate but not that equal.
