I've only just seen your reply! It was more the more extreme comments in the fan groups from fans who felt the need to defend and justify Fox's comments which were far more offensive and upsetting. Being ace I will never understand the need to defend and parrot a person merely because you are sexually attracted to the actor, as many (or most) of the members of the groups I was a member of us are. So many of the comments were that kind of nastiness and/or ignorance we've seen more and more since the referendum in 2016 in our country.

In the short term I have recast Hathaway in my head, and as my daughter does not even have time to breathe (13+ hour days, 6 days a week, in the School theatres working on 3 shows at the same time, learning the skills of lighting and sound as well as ASM plus academic papers to write!) I am just writing my Doctor Who kid fic and probably some other more little, less plot driven, pieces which I am writing mostly for her to read on the bus, although I have just posted the last chapter of the first part of the kidfic thing Unwanted. I have had a silly idea of writing the Mundane Casebook of DI Hathaway, where he deals with the boring routine of CID in Oxford, and one of DS Winter, dealing with the same in Midsomer (as I follow Thames Valley Police on facebook I maybe sadly inspired by reality! After all the fictional Oxfordshire and Midsomer Constabularies = most of TVP)

Talking of my daughter, do you mind editing your comment to say babyklingon. I know she is 20 now, and even has her own IMbD page, but I would still prefer to keep her name out of my posts. Sorry to ask.

Sorry! Really sorry. I couldn't edit the comment (I don't think they let you edit comments) so I've deleted it.
