fearing no one’s watching
all her tired tenants have found themselves
living amongst the moldering homes
of the feeder road
of no phones
of the late shift
swollen and bent under the pressures
of a huge expanse
of stubborn Texan night
or some laid out about the salt pastures
of open Utah
thinking it much like Antarctica
masked in the truths
of its faces
hills
and performances
or some simply waking early
to find out about
everything
and the much to be done
in schools
in apartments
in lost city satellites
effortlessly drifting away
from suburbia
and the women of the previous article
not being honest,
left tangoing
in arguments
feet tangled in each other’s gowns
and the monstrous synopticons
caught cracking
in the presence of their work
and all their homes
floating in cold open space
unfilled by debts
