The jeans saga

So. The other day I bought a couple pairs of brand new jeans for myself, for the first time. Target was having a really good sale along with a several coupon codes, so I ended up buying two pairs for about $5 each. Maybe not quite as cheap as I might have found at thrift stores eventually, but "long" jeans are practically impossible to find used and after the 15 pounds I've (happily) gained this year I did need some that fit better.

I thought that was going to be the end of the story, but things got a little more interesting the following week when the orders were supposed to arrive. UPS tracking told me they had been delivered Thursday afternoon, but I most certainly didn't see any packages at my door. :P I decided to wait until the next day to report the missing packages, so when they still didn't show up Friday afternoon I sent an email to Target saying I hadn't received my order. I really wasn't expecting any response because I'd emailed Target earlier when placing my order and had received no answer at all...but UPS said to go through Target first.

And then, right before we headed for bed Friday night, someone knocked at our door and a young woman handed us a couple packages, saying that they were left by her door. UPS totally got the address wrong somehow. I was quite relieved to finally have the order in hand, and in the excitement of trying things on I didn't even think to email Target again. Guess it didn't even cross my mind since I was so sure I wasn't going to get a reply.

The jeans ended up being a little too small, so I put them aside and several days later we made it to Target. I was able to find the same kind in the next larger size and the exchange went through smoothly. Yay! The "long" length is so perfect. :D Really comfy.

It wasn't until several more days had passed that I (finally!?) received an email from Target, in which they apologized for the fact that I'd never received my jeans, and saying that they had issued a refund for one pair. This was odd, as my original note had clearly stated I'd placed TWO orders and not received either one.

So I immediately replied to the email, saying that I had ended up receiving the orders after all, so they should cancel the refund. Within a couple hours I got an answer saying that they couldn't reverse the refund and I should just accept it as a gift from them, and hopefully I would order again soon. Okay, I'll take that. :) Means I paid about $6 total for both pairs. Not bad at all, if you ask me.

And now you know...the rest of the story. ;)
