Pairing: Souji/Yosuke

Notes: THE ENDING IS SO LAME, I'M SORRY. I saw an unfilled prompt for Souji and Yosuke getting high together on badbadbathhouse but it's from several million months ago so I figured I'd post this here instead of...there...yep.
"Are you sure you know what you're doing?"
"Of course! I've got this, trust me." Yosuke is rezipping a little plastic bag, tucking it back in his pants pocket as he scrutinizes the small, orange-and-white-swirled glass bowl in his hands. He's never actually done this before, especially not in the backyard of a police detective who could come home at any minute, but it can't be that hard, right?
Souji is looking a little skeptical, in that way where he only has to incline his head just so for you to know what he's thinking--or can pretty easily guess, at least. Yosuke knows him well enough to know that look, and he knows that what's coming next is the suggestion that they go do something more productive or less dangerous, like study or watch some TV.
Yosuke whips out his lighter--he picked up a cheap 5-pack of 'em at Junes and it takes a couple clumsy flicks to get a flame going--and the most charming grin he can muster. "C'mon, it'll be fun. Trying it once can't hurt, right?"
It's just the right temperature to be out on Souji's back porch in nothing but their t-shirts and shorts with a couple cans of ice-cold melon soda--occasionally the breeze is enough to make Yosuke shiver a little, but when it subsides it feels like the perfect summer night.
Souji is still just staring at him and it's making Yosuke feel self-conscious (at least there isn't anyone else around if he messes up, but in some ways that makes it worse because this is Souji and he doesn't want to risk looking uncool in front of him pretty much ever) so he brings the bowl to his lips, lights it up, inhales, and--promptly chokes.
Yosuke's not sure what he was expecting, but the taste and smell is awful and his lungs feel like they're on fire. He coughs violently a couple of times, smoke escaping his lips and nostrils in small puffs, Souji's eyebrows raising delicately as he watches him.
"I--just got something caught in my throat before I inhaled, you go ahead," Yosuke manages to wheeze as he passes the bowl and lighter to Souji, trying to catch his breath.
Souji takes them carefully from him and relights the bowl with ease, closing his eyes as he inhales deeply, exhales slowly in a perfect stream, and then puffs out a small smoke ring for good measure. Yosuke just stares, one last cough burning its way up his throat and he chugs his soda to stifle it, managing to hiccup instead. "How do you always do that?"
"Do what?"
"Do everything perfectly, partner! I thought you said you'd never smoked before?"
Souji just looks at him and shrugs. "I haven't. I've read a bit about it, though."
Chewing his lower lip, Yosuke stares at Souji's hands for a moment before meeting his gaze again, eyebrows furrowing. "I don't think I like it very much. Just not my thing, I guess."
Souji turns the lighter over in his hands, silent for a moment before responding. "Let's try something I read about. You might like it better this way."
"What way?" Yosuke's watching closely but Souji doesn't say anything in return, just brings the bowl to his lips again, covering the small hole on the side and inhaling. He doesn't exhale right away, though, keeping his lips pursed as he beckons for Yosuke to scoot closer--
Yosuke doesn't expect the fingers tilting his chin slightly upward, a stutter of protest just barely escaping before Souji is right there and his lips are parting barely a millimeter apart from Yosuke's, slowly exhaling smoke into the other boy's mouth. Yosuke's just startled enough that he follows through, inhaling deeply and not coughing this time--it still tastes bad, but he manages to hold it in for a moment before breathing out again, just as Souji pulls back.
"That was--"
"Shotgunning," Souji finishes, face still close. "One way of doing it, at least." Yosuke knows he's speaking quietly, but it kind of reverberates around him--and he's aware that Souji's fingers are still tucked under his chin. They're kind of warm, and he feels kind of warm--kind of tingly. It's nice, but weird, like everything's coming in and out of focus, hyperaware of one sensation and then another.
He realizes he's just been staring for a minute, and neither of them have moved. "This feels kind of--"
"Yeah," Souji murmurs again, and Yosuke would be annoyed that he's not letting him finish except that that doesn't really matter right now. It probably should matter that Souji's fingers--they're awfully long, aren't they? It's no wonder the girls like them--are brushing across his cheek, and then over his lower lip. His lips feel really sensitive and Yosuke kind of wants to lick them but he can't exactly do that with Souji's thumb there, can he?
"That really tickles, dude," he manages to mumble around his thumb, but either Souji wants him to shut up or moving his mouth shifted things enough that he's kind of--licking Souji's thumb, maybe. He's not really thinking about it, but he's taking it a little further into his mouth--or Souji's pushed it in there, Yosuke's not sure which--and it's really salty which is weird but he guesses his own skin tastes that way, doesn't it? His eyes are closed and he's focusing on the feel of it, Souji pressing down slightly as his tongue laves over the pad and it seems pretty natural to nip a little when Souji's pointer finger joins.
Yosuke's definitely feeling light-headed when the fingers withdraw, forgetting that he'd closed his eyes until he opens them again to find Souji just--staring at him. It actually feels kind of like he's staring right into him, and Yosuke would be unnerved by that but he feels way too good right now to care.
"One more?" Souji's got the bowl and the lighter again and before Yosuke can respond Souji's already inhaled deeply, fingers snaking around to the nape of Yosuke's neck to tug him forward. There's no pretense in the way Souji's lips are pressed to his this time, breath hot as he exhales and Yosuke barely manages to pull it in and breathe it out between them before Souji's tongue is sliding between Yosuke's lips, brushing against his own. Yosuke's heart is beating so loudly that he thinks it's either going to explode or he's going to burst an eardrum and the only logical thing to do is to just--let his fingers clench in and twist the fabric of Souji's t-shirt and feel.
Souji definitely doesn't kiss like a girl--probably because Souji isn't a girl--but right now all Yosuke can think about is how he tastes like smoke and artificial melon and the fingers at the nape of his neck are brushing through the short hairs there, Souji's other hand creeping just under the hem of Yosuke's shirt. It's like little sparks are going off wherever his fingers touch bare skin and he kind of really doesn't want that sensation to stop, just barely managing to bite back a whimper as Souji's hands creep up a little further, flattening against his stomach.
Yosuke pulls back just enough to breathe, eyes unfocused as he looks at Souji, voice low and uneven. "H-hey, can we--"
The sound of the front door swinging open is loud enough to make both of them start, Yosuke's heart beating even more erratically as he clenches his fingers harder in Souji's shirt, neither of them daring to move.
"Hey, Dojima-san... I think I should help you get cleaned up a little, you know--"
"I said go home, 'dachi--"
Souji's uncle's voice is slurred, and Yosuke recognizes the detective's partner through the screen door, arms around the older man to keep him upright. He's clearly been drinking, and the two boys just watch as Adachi fumbles to get both of their shoes off and then walks Dojima upstairs, footsteps thudding as they go.
He still feels light-headed, but slightly sobered after the scare and Yosuke can't quite meet Souji's gaze, biting his lower lip and extricating himself in an attempt to stand. "I think I should go, since--you know--"
"Yeah." Souji's watching him with what looks like way more clarity than he should have right now, tucking a stray strand of hair behind his ear. "Will you be okay to bike back?"
"I think so. Maybe. I'll walk it home if I need to, I think--" Yosuke can't quite stop himself before continuing, blurting, "Do you think we could do this again sometime?" He doesn't even really know what "this" means, because the smoking wasn't all it's cracked up to be and he's not sure everything he felt could be attributed to that, anyway--but everything else--
Everything else was really nice.
Souji seems to weigh his options carefully before smiling slightly, nodding once. "Yeah. We can."
