Thank you very much for this! I like your characterization of Lyanna, balancing her wild and sassy side with her earnest side that needs to believe things. Her conversation with Brandon about love was really revealing, how he never thought about the woman's feelings and how it all seems about possession, which is obviously not Lyanna's thing judging from her love of independence and freedom (though, as is only human, she's a little proprietary about Rhaegar herself). It's really interesting that the only place Lyanna can find a semblance of equal consideration is in the songs, it rings true with what songs seem to be used for and represent in Westeros. Once again, thanks so much for this look at some really intriguing backstory!
