I think they are. They're bigger and tougher, and they don't fall out.

Mom always brought home tomatoes, more than anything else. She said vegetables were better.

[It's... kind of nice and nostalgic, talking to someone who doesn't know any horror stories about his mother and her fate. Someone who wouldn't imagine that sort of thing happening.]
