Familial Bonds
Severus was bonding with an eleven-year-old over thunderstorms and fairytales, though he’d had a different sort of connection with the boy’s mother. They had been dearest friends.
When James had died, he’d offered Lily comfort, never expecting the boy to look to him for the same.
Now Lily had joined James, and Harry was alone.
Perhaps, Severus thought, as he closed the book and peered at the slight form sleeping under his desk, perhaps his bond with Harry would resemble family-like a favored uncle.
He stood and fire-called Albus. It appeared Harry would be with him for another night.
And then I wrote a comment drabble to help kick off the brand new
cw_ldws (in which I am competing. Yay!). I wrote this in about five minutes, so excuse the lack of a good title and well... overall thought.
Title: Dragon Fever
Pairing: Charlie/? (Though I know who I wrote it as... and whose wedding... go ahead, guess)
Word Count: 135
Rating: G
Warning(s): None
Dragon Fever
"Wha's dat ta-doo, Un'ca Cha'lie? A dwagon?" Victoire stabbed a chubby finger at Charlie's forearm and squealed when the inked dragon twitched and smoke gusted from its snout.
Charlie chuckled. He should have known it would be a bad idea to take off his suit jacket and roll up his sleeves. But the sun beating down on the Weasley garden was scorching, and you could only dress like an accountant so long, even at a wedding.
"That's a dragon, all right, sweetheart. A Chinese Fireball."
Victoire giggled and ran off.
A hand settled on Charlie's shoulder and a warm weight pressed against his back. "Any dragons you'd like to show me?"
Turning to see who had whispered in his ear, a slow smile settled on Charlie's face. "I was only waiting for you to ask."
So, uhm... yeah... didn't get anything written other than these two drabbles in like three days.
