Bush said his veto pen was "one way to ensure that I am relevant; that's one way to ensure that I am in the process. And I intend to use the veto."
I am going to attempt to refrain from going on a tyraid here, but is the guy who has assumed the position of commander in chief of America for the last 8 years aware that despite what the politicians think that they are in their positions to serve the interest of their constituency and the public?
Him being, "relevant" has absolutely jack shit to do with taking care of business with the legislative branch of the federal government and getting funds allocated and trying to address situations and the needs and future of the country.
This in my mind is the most extreme perfect version of a supposed grown man having a fucking temper tantrum because no one wants to pay lip service to his ineptitude and shameful ignorance and lack of interest in the actual wellbeing of the republican process to tend to the nation.
Yes you want to do things differently and want to give tax money to people and projects that you support and not to your competing parties choices. Act like adults with half a brain and enough emotional control to have a two way Dialogue and reach some common ground.
I say this because the attitude of administration of, well if we cant do it my way... fuck you we just wont do anything but lock horns and blame the other party. And everyone else can just drown in the negative externalities and both sides could not care less as they blame the other and act self righteous as though they have no account for the happenings in America and the world.
Sadly they don't seem to understand that choosing to do nothing is a choice that always has results and usually they are negative and in spades.
Am I the only one left who HAS read the constitution and the bill of rights and who CAN comprehend it both in letter and in spirit? I swear some people in politics either stay ignorant as to not know that they are fucking up or they just live in denile and smug indignation.
Elected office is a civic duty not a cash cow and a way to validate your existence, hubris and ego.
Fucking a people, Washington's farewell address to public life foreshadowed almost ever single tactic and sectarian ruse that has ever been attempted or used in the history of our country. The methods of exploitation and subjugation have not changed in hundreds if not thousands of years, but the ability to justify or give plausible deniability to any semblance of accountability has grown to grotesque proportions.
I swear I gotta find someplace to live where people aren't trying to hasten the fucking apocalypse while taking everyone with them. Or a country where the leader doesnt talk to God... Ya know if an average or poor person claim that kid of exchange with the divine they would have them on anti psychotics for schizophrenia and on suicide watch. But if you got appointed to the presidency of America than you are a great leader and not a fucking nut...
At least Joan or Arc was more credible because she didn't claim to communicate with the divine for justification of self empowerment, she at least espoused the divine communion for the sake of her nations and it's people. If you are gonna be bat shit off the deep end at least don't sound totally full of shit.
Maybe if I had not ever accomplished anything in my life and my daddy was president and ran many aspects of the world intelligence agency for who knows how long I could be that arrogant too.
Oh well, no graduating from yale with a concentration in substance abuse and being oblivious for me.
