Can I point out a minor discrepancy with union fees?

Union fees have a payment system based on what you earn, which I fully support. However, I have an issue with the scale:

up to $10,800
$10,800 - $15,024
$15,025 - $20,850
$20,851 - $25,019
$25,020 - $34,486
$34,487 - $50,000
$50,001 and above
Executive Officers

The minor issue here is that not only is minimum wage in the realm of low 20Ks, but Grade One VPS salaries start at 30K! Plus, once you get to the 34K+ bands, they difference in payment is minimal. The only people who are paying lower fees are those working part time, of which there aren't many. So in reality, the majority of VPS staff are paying the same union fees, regardless of income, which really defeats the purpose of having a salary based fee system.

This rant came about because we received notice of (minimal so I'm not complaining about them) price increases in our fees, but no adjustment of the scale

random observations, rants
