If you're planning on dealing with real estate agents, do not use Noel Jones. They are a bunch of crooks. They think it's perfectly acceptable to break the law and think a sorry will fix it, and continue on with normal ( Read more... )

Irrelevant of what the law is, essentially they broke their own word. They said they'd give me 24 hours notice before inspections, and not touch anything. They broke both things today, and they've also skirted around the edges of those two things on previous occasions.

The basic deal is that Mum gave them the keys and the agents were there while strangers trampled through to see my underwear hanging to dry, my dirty dishes, my jewellery box on the dresser, and my altar set up (not the kindof thing a witch wants strangers to see). Usually I'll put these things away, but I didn't know to do this today. I mean, I'm not a big fan of cleaning, but I have pride, I want my house neat if people come over.

Plus, well, obviously, I know how important it is to Mum that she sells this house, but Mum figures that because I'm her daughter she can deal any crap she wishes. Which is actually quite stupid of her, because she knows I'm perfectly capable of cutting out close family members. I haven't spoken to my dad for 5 years, and it would have been longer if it hadn't been for a certain cheque he wrote out for my airfare to the UK (hey, I'm a capricorn, I'm still practical), and I didn't speak to my paternal grandmother for several years. The only reason I made peace with her was because I was going overseas for a couple of years, and she's old, and frankly, I didn't want her to die and have me regret not making peace. We still have this strict protocol of things we don't speak about, which leaves only the weather and health.

Indeed. And if you can't trust real estate agents, who can you trust?
