So, apparently people actually read these things - that's cool.... albiet a little stalker-ish, but you know I love it.
So, some updates:
The student problem has been as solved as it is going to be. The mother doens't want me to punish her kid, and the Principal told me so. I told the Principal that I'm just sick of it at this point, and I really just want it to go away...besides, the punishment has no meaning anymore. Then, I asked her whether she wanted me to allow her to deal with all my classroom problems from now on...and she vehemently said "no", and spent a good two minutes complimenting my classroom management style. So, she came as close to apologizing as she was going to. Which was cool. So, that's over. THANK GOD.
The Tri training is going decently. I missed my first workout in almost three weeks on Wednesday becasue I was so exhausted, and plus, I was PMS-ing. I think I've kind-a made up for it with an extra twenty minutes in the pool yesterday, (I was supposed to bike for 30 mins), a crazy-long day of walking EVERYWHERE today during the aquarium trip (more on that later), and lugging a couch up two flights of stairs ALONE (again, more on that later). I'm tired, and ain't going nowhere tonight.
On the aquarium: we went today, and I was with Marco and Christopher alllllll day. Good kids.... marco is SO curious! He makes my brain hurt with all his questions, comments, facts, speculations, insights, etc. He's the type of kid you love to have as a teacher because he's so intelligently curious...but drives you NUTS because he's somewhat hyperactive (as are most bright kids). ;) Poor guy was in tears at the end of the day though because we wore him out and his knee hurt (he fell in a puddle last night at home, apparently).
OH, and I nearly had a heart-attack when SIX of my girls appear with TWO FOOT LONG pixie-stick TUBES of SUGAR. Alyssa looks up at me, clutching it with her hands, smiles and says "We're gunna be hyyyyperrrr, Ms. Castle!" Oh. My. God. Luckily, they got it all out when they were walking back to school, and collapsed soon after.
As for the couch: My neighbor was getting rid of his old set (because he was replacing it), and gave it to me! (Well, rather, I found it on the street........but he still said I could take it!) It's actually *really* nice. Canvas, no rips or stains, and in good condition. NO MORE FUTON, THANK GOD. (no offense Molly if you're reading this....but you remember what the futon was like ;)) So, I lugged it upstairs alone. My entire right hand side is regretting this decision right now...but my butt is enjoying it as I am sitting in it right now. Hooray for comfortable butts!
Oh, and I cleaned my trunk for the first time in at least a YEAR. Hahahhaaaa ;)
Ok, enough rambles. I'm off to couch surf (because I CAN!!!).
