I've refrained from posting here because I really have nothing positive to say. I have at least a shred of good news so I now feel I can blog out all the bad stuff and still put a cheery cap on it. I know, life isn't all about sunshine and farts but I'd rather not bore you all with how shitty everything is every time you hear from me.
So we've been trying to buy a house. While everyone who has ever gone through this process just read that and had a seizure, let me explain it to those who have yet to experience this process. I'd rather BIRTH ANOTHER CHILD than go through what I've been through in the last 6 weeks. Finding the house is the easy part - it the portion that takes you from signing on the dotted line for the application for your loan to closing on the house that takes the stuffing out of you.
Well financially speaking, all of my frugality has finally paid off. The fortitude of my banking abilities is all in order and the bank doesn't think I'm a schmuck. The appraisal company though, is the bad guy in my tale of woes. You see, we paid a third party appraisal company that was given to us by the mortgage people to do the FHA appraisal. They went to the house and did their review but that is about where they stopped being 'experts in their field'.
They sent the appraisal paperwork in 2 chunks - something they weren't supposed to do. Then they didn't put in sold comparables, which is required by FHA to have 2 that are 6 mo or less old. They argued with my mortgage lender about the requirement, stated they had sent everything, then took several days off (only one dude works there apparently), and finally got what they needed in yesterday. Well almost. They sent in the shit in chunks again - something they were already reminded was NOT FUCKING ALLOWED.
So, we have been approved all around and are now waiting for the moron appraisal people to put their entire proposal in ONE pdf instead of in little bitty pieces.
All I can say is this: They have no idea how much time I'm willing to waste on my direct retribution towards them.
Just as soon as the ink dries on the closing paperwork.
