Days like this I feel like I can change the world

Last night was a success. Like a huge success. We had approx. 60 people turn up throughout the night and 30 of them were freshers/not SF&F members.

You know how many freshers I thought would turn up? 1.

It's nights like this which makes all the hard work the committee put in worth it. It's a bit of a joke that I'm a workaholic. Actually it's no joke- it's completely true. However sometimes I feel bad for making my committee comply with my workaholic tendencies. But we were all so happy that last night was such a success that I think (hope!) it makes up for it.

I was talking to my parents the other day and moaning about how some people (I think we all know who) don't reply to emails and asking if it was really too much to ask that people lived up to my standards. My parents laughed and said yes it was and that they were glad I wasn't their boss. But last night not only did every single SF&F member live up to my expectations, they surpassed them by a mile. Thank you to everyone who turned up with games to play. Thank you to everyone who talked to new people and invited them to play games. Thank you to everyone who helped move tables and chairs. You were all fantastic.

There isn't really much more to say. Vicky and I first started to plan this in June. It worked. I'm happy.

sf&f, yay life
