MY FAVOURITE DRUG
Don't get too excited, i've not been into doping *rolls eyes*.... me is talking about jrock ofcourse! *can actually see you guys yawning and heading for the scroll bar ... STOP! XDXD*
well, it started with Kassy and Jo doing the Music meme. it made me realise what a LOT these two know about different kinds of music! then Ashley blogged about how she's discovering new, different jrockers.
it got me thinking you know. i remember that when i started out with miyavi, initially ... about a year ago i think... i discovered LOTS of different bands and solo artists, you know. a looong list of different bands. but when i suddenly happened to discover GACKT, every other artist kinda got side tracked, and i literally got STUCK on him, LOL! it's true that sporadically i've made some new and awesome discoveries - susumu hirasawa, anzen chitai and the lovely kaya, to name a few - but i really havent focussed much on other artists you know.
SO. i decided to go discover some new people. :) and i thought i'll ask people t o recommend stuff. but then i thought, people ALREADY recommend music on LJ righ t? i mean, that is why the 'music' thingummy is there at the end of the blog ( right under 'mood' and 'location') right?
it's interesting that LJ seems to think that a person's condition and situation is incomplete wit hout specifying the music that he/she's listening to . how important music is, ne, in people's lives!
so i looked at everyone's 'music' and made a list of of about 10 songs that people on my friends' page had listed there. interestingly enough, i discovered that MANY of you guys don't put anything in that part, actually only a handful of people on my f-page put something there. also, sometimes 'no music' is written there, to emphasise that some one angry or depressed or something.
anyway, i listed the following songs (omitting the ones which i am already familiar with), and then i heard them all. the songs are -
1.angel trip vamps ( i think HYDE was ADORABLE in the VAMPS vid as the "look-at-me-i'm-such-a-hot-cool-sexy-crazy-hippie-dude/dudette", LOLOL!!!! )
2.depeche mode somebody (just ..hopelessly sweeeet and romantic, sighhhh)
3.gazette a moth under the skin, tokyo shinjuu (SEX. need i say more? :P)
4.satsuki raindrop
5.yuya matsushita foolish foolish (O.o he is SO hot!!! the entire time i watched that PV i was thinking - if i could bite his lips right now i'll die happy!)
6.t m revolution web of night (OMG Takanori looking awesome! and some spiderman stuff happening...though, LOL, i didn't understand much of the english. but hey, i understood some! *feels proud*)
7.tokio hotel by your side ( i'd heard so much about them, but never really heard them. i think you guys should stop dissing them, they're not that bad! it's a nice song, ne!)
8.cheap trick the flame (such a lovelyyyy song, of lost love, brilliant lyrics ne...sigh...)
9.news weeeek (LOL! this was a cute dancy peppy song! and i saw this utterly random fanvid where a bunch of schoolboys kind of leaped around and lip-synched to this song, hehe, it was all very LOL and adorable!)
10.Aléjate de mi Avalanch (OMG, this song has an awesome beginning! just the kind i like, really. and it 's a really cool rock song, really...)
i must say that everyone on my f-list has GREAT taste in music, OMG .. *basking in everyone's reflected glory*.
and as i heard/watched them all on Youtube i.. ahem... something happened. O_O ...I HAVE A NEW LOVE. yup!!! *looks around nervously for an angry G growling "you worship ME! don't forget the bloodied shrine that you've put up in your profile!" @_@*
it's Satsuki, the ex-Rentrer dude who's gone solo. i don't quite remember who on my F-page was listening to this song, but i reallllly wanna kiss them and thank them for this! because it is the MOST DIVINE song i have heard of late. the music is just ...drenched with beauty, and his voice is crystal clear and just so ethereal and sweet(he has a stunningly beautiful falsetto, btw, you really notice it, it's so lovely!)... Raindrop just had me swooning, and then i went and heard other stuff by him too, like Moon Spiral.
