The plane came and saw till Dawn and I were knee deep in airplane lobby. That was just another thing for me to never ever look forward to in my lifetime but when moving day comes you really don't have a choice. Dawn seemed like she was through talking to me or there was just a big gap of lack of talking. Either way the whole plane ride all the way to San Fransisco was not the most comforting to say the least. It gave me more time to think about everything and nothing at the same time. There was this new place and everything that it supposedly posed as a threat. Also there was Spike and Angel, those two were definitely more than a handful. More than that it was all a little too confusing for me, if there was something out there it would of been nice of Giles to give me the heads up. In any case it would of also been nice to just sent a bunch of other slayers to deal with the situation, there was plenty out there and if you just piled them up it shouldn't be a problem. I let out a sigh as rational thinking seemed to have left my brain momentarily.
If this was some really really 'big bad' then obviously I was the best for the job. I took out one hellmouth how would some sort of 'apocalypse' demon match up to that. Of course the thing was probably big, slimy and had pointy things on his shoulder but what demon didn't have them now-a-days. Giles was right about one thing, even with the smallest of demons you can never be for sure. Precautious Giles, the one you can count of for big scary adventures through your lifetime. He was better than the rest of the watchers I can give him that, most of them were full of none sense and gave out random orders of doom. What they lacked in compassion they also lacked in brain in some cases. I guess it's just another thing that I could never understand, or hope that would somehow pass.
I was nervous to meet the others but mainly Spike. I still couldn't get over the fact that he was back..living or undead living so to say. That whole year I was up in Rome and he didn't even call. It was more than upsetting but what made it worse was Andrew told me both him and Angel had made there way up to see me. I wouldn't say I'd be happy about a 'no call just show,' even though I was with The Immortal at the time I still would of liked to see the both of them. I tilted my head as I thought about The Immortal, he was a really nice guy and all but a girl can only take 'your beautiful..kiss me' so much before getting a little tired of him. I wouldn't say we were in love or anything but he was nice company for a while. I did like him but there was really nothing between us that felt like...
I looked up as Dawn headed for the door to get a cab. I had no idea if she knew where we were going but she walked outside like she owned the place. Willow had given me directions to a small place before we headed to this meeting. She said it was some sort of surprise, which also made me nervous, and that we should meet there since our flights were far away in time. I quickly ran up to Dawn, carrying all of our luggage. It would of been nice of her to help but I wasn't about to push anything on her at the moment. I could tell her mind was thinking 'load up the girl with the super strength' but for now I'd dodge all confrontation till after I got all cozy in the new place. I threw our bags in the trunk as I told the driver the directions Willow gave me. I hopped in the seat next to Dawn and both of us were on were way to..where ever it was.
I was really tired and it was only mid day, I knew I should of taken the 'complimentary' nap the stewardess suggested. I laid my head on the window as I watched the world outside. San Fransisco was nice, I had to give it that. The water looked extremely pretty as we went through the Golden Gate Bridge. By just driving along the city I could pick out a few pros and cons of this whole entire place. Bridge pretty, Wasteland bad.... All in all everything seemed to be equal yet still didn't match up to Rome in many ways. Of course I said that about Rome when I left California, but after staying there a few days I grew to like it quickly. The cab driver drove really fast and in no time flat, We seemed to be at an apartment complex. I wondered if Willow would meet us outside but I couldn't see her anywhere. I paid the nice driver his fee as I again took all of our luggage out of the car. They were beginning to be a little heavy for me but still I kept to myself.
