Two poems

DIAMOND

Baby I am all string beaned

out of a milk sky

a fence clotted with weeds

thousands of situations

my dream of you is

jackknifed open and

seeps a red juice

we clutter together

we have similar means

rectified doubled over

a line cast east to west

genetically baby

we knit up

each flick of the cavity

sore going

the form of our darling

a mile of cord

wained by your forearm

scrubbed by my wrist

the stomach of it

so careless cored

so sunset known

baby

the fun of it all

is your sutra of damns

and my eye

opening all the way

down the long bright

ribbons of road

FRICTION

In this catalog

my genius menus

my benevolent subscriptions

every cousin heartbeat to

the fragile picnic economy

the ant ears and worm breaths

the entire mass produced colony

seething with this chimera

this chemist's slip

this bowl of fruit two days past

I serrate

I understand

I sublimate one stuff of day

into another stuff of

sufficient feminine warmth

of my bracketed lapses

say nothing

the catalog is comprehensive

the nonsense of ego

doctor engineer chef

event planner priestess banker

a full complement

of my ego

warming up to the task

of swimming

bloodied albatross

off to some other

symbology and the colony

trembles when I hum right

a very child a complete monster

I feel you kid

it isn't anything

it isn't a fever
