HALF SKY

the scales fell

friend tell me

your dogsbody

who peels

the oasis

in time for

the oats to grow

or the news

to percolate

northward

feel me

I dogsbody

nut sedge

who eats

vinyl

for lack

of home?

I deseed

the pecan

broadleaf

down

for water

ballooning

silk

behind

fire

the mirage

cooks

the drake

all summer

half sky

half wing.

Tell me

dogsbody

who lathes

in time

for the rim

to feint

at sundown

to rust

and who

takes shadow

at the door

lunges

half mad

in the sky

before

noontime

water can

echoes.

We dogsbody

we refract

half sky

all night

all night

noon.
