I'm one day in to the brand new age of 33; 11 years older than I ever thought I would be when I was a kid. I'm doing ok, things are not ideal but I could be a lot worse off. I haven't had a date in just under a year. I'm about to take my house OFF of the market and start looking for renters. Gypsy is doing well. Mom's still sick, but she's off of the usual chemo treatments and is on the pill-form. Dad's lost all the color in his hair from all the stress about mom.
We had a really good visit when they came down for my birthday. We really enjoyed going to see Inception in IMAX. We played a board game together and went shopping (dad's and mom's favorite activities). They even talked me into watching a football game with them. The whole weekend was only marred when I had a really bad reaction to my Niacin regimen.
I took it Sunday morning and 3 hours later I was flushed and burning from the inside out as my capillaries all flushed. It got so bad that I almost collapsed and had the shakes. All because I forgot that I'm not supposed to get in the sun for a few hours after taking the meds.
My first night of being 33 produced an odd dream:
I'm working in a club/bar of some sort and its after hours. I've finished closing up and walk outside into a downtown setting only to find that the tires on my bike are flat. I pick it up and carry it on my back while looking for a gas station air pump to fill the tires. I see a run down gas station with lights on, but when I get there it turns out to be some kind of dios de muerte party. I put down my bike and start to walk towards the party-ers, but I can't understand a word they're saying. At this point I look down and notice that the shadows are flickering weirdly. I turn around in time to see a nuclear explosion in the distance. I turn my head in time to not be blinded by the white flash and am able to watch as the mushroom cloud grows and the firestorm starts. Then I hear the rushing air coming towards me andfeel the concussion hard enough to kick me awake.
When I woke up I had to pat myself down to make sure nothing was broken as I could still feel the after effects of the pressure wave. I was soaked in sweat too.
