[How was your day?]
Takes place after 2:13 "Jumping The Gun"
Seriously? You want to know how my day was?
…My day was just awesome. Let’s see, I’ll do a run down for you.
Wake up this morning and my first thought is I’m sorta getting my shit together. I mean, yeah I’m sleeping on Coach’s couch and I’ve spent more time entertaining Gracie Taylor, who’s like six weeks old than anyone else but my shit is coming together. I’m back on the team and I even do like forty percent of my own homework. I haven’t gone to school or practice with a hangover in a couple of weeks-Mrs. Taylor won’t let me drink in the house. I fixed the cable-alright I stole it but they don’t know that. They think it’s a valid hookup from before the tornado. We were going crazy without cable in the house.
Then I took Julie to that party. She was going whether I took her or not so I figured I’d go with her, watch out for her and make sure she got home. There was this geek kid. Never been laid in his entire life and probably never will be. Anyway, Julie was drunk, he was kissing on her and I didn’t like where it was going. Now I’ve never had to take advantage of a drunk girl in my life but I’ve seen plenty of guys who did so I know what it looks like. I told her it was time for us to leave but being drunk, she didn’t listen so I told the little bastard to come with me to get beers for everyone. That’s when I told him that if he ever so much as looked at her again, I would end him. I sent him the other way and I carried Julie out of there.
Honest to God, I was just taking her shoes off and putting her to bed. Maybe I’m not the smartest guy in the world but I’m not that stupid. You don’t sleep with Coach’s daughter, especially not in coach’s house. He didn’t see it that way though and he wouldn’t give me a chance to explain. He looked at me and all he saw was that stupid, screwed up, alcoholic, football player who’s slept with most of the women in Dillon. I guess I earned that reputation but I thought Coach was the one guy in Dillon who saw past all that.
Turns out, even the people you thought you could trust always let you down.
[prompt] on the couch,
