Forgiveness
This last few months I've come to realise the full extent of God's forgiveness more than ever before. I suppose that although I've heard it preached at me in Church a LOT its just never occurred to me just how forgiving he is.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
What better a time to learn this knowledge than at Advent time?
But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1: 20-21)
Jesus was sent to save us from our sins. Jesus died as an ultimate sacrifice for our sins, so that we can spend eternity with our Father in heaven. Its amazing. Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me!
Let's look forward to Christmas with the assurance that God will forgive us, no matter what we have done!
