There's been a psychopath living downstairs who waits until he thinks I am sleeping, then he bangs on the wall directly below where I am. This has been going on for over 4 years. It has been injurious to me because I am disabled by CFS. That's the backstory.
The owner of the house threw up his hands, because of this trouble, and decided to sell the house. (Now I must leave soon, which will be very difficult for me). He has the house on contract to be sold by a date in October. I am wondering if it is possible for him to break the contract?
I would prefer to buy the house than to end up homeless. I might be able to pay the same price as that offered. And, I am considering coercing the guy, suggesting I have been looking at a law suit for all the harm that he, and the management company, have allowed upon me. (I have a detailed log of these incidents from the man downstairs, my complaints, etc., covering years of abuse).
I am just wondering if it might be possible for him to break that lease, somehow? If not, I can quit this diversion and get on with packing. Note: I am Illinois.
(I'll be reposting this to some inactive LJ legal community).
