A problem with referring family
So over the holiday break, I got an administrative job at my old accounting firm (temp to perm, depending on their/my needs). They're in need of workers, and my aunt expressed interest in getting a job there, so I forwarded her resume to the hiring manager. Today the hiring manager told me that my aunt wasn't being considered for an interview, as she was overqualified in some areas and underqualified in others, basically just not what they're looking for. They are, however, considering interviewing some friends whose resumes I also forwarded. What should I say if my aunt asks what happened to her application? I have a feeling she will in a few weeks.
