Extracting audio from .swf files
I need to transcribe the audio from some files that are in .swf format, and my transcription software does not run .swf files. I've Googled for "free swf converter" "free swf to MP3 converter" "converting swf files" and "ripping SWF to MP3" and have tried five different pieces of software that claim to convert said files, but none of them work. Well, one of them was prevented from running by my anti-virus. For the others, either there's some flaw in the files I'm trying to convert or there's something missing in my computer, because the programs won't run and keep throwing error messages at me. I've tried Free SWF Converter, Softpedia, Lumixsoft SWF to AVI MPEG Convert and SWF Video Converter. (Can't recall the name of the one my anti-virus rejected.) I tried the video downloader plugin for Firefox, and while it will download the files it won't convert them. I can play the files in Firefox with no problem, but I can't convert or rip them, and I can't play them in my transcription software.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can convert these files or rip the audio from them? I'm out of ideas. The reason I'm looking for free software is that I doubt I'll ever have to use these files again, and paying for software will use up the money I'm saving for a conference I'm planning to attend next month.
