I have just recently gotten out of an abusive marriage and have found a really great guy that treats me respectfully and like a woman. My family believes I am moving to fast but he is really great. How soon is too soon? BTW my family does like this man a lot. I think I have fallen hard for him. How slow should I take it?

Just do what feels right - we can't really give you any advice knowing so little about the situation. Just be aware of the consequences your actions may have, and try not to be blinded to warning signs should any turn up.

Your family is probably worried about you and a little over-protective, and for good reason. Perhaps just reassuring them that you need to live and make your own decisions but that you appreciate their love and concern would help them out a bit.

When we announced our engagement, I had old married couples come up and tell me how they
Got married really quickly too, but have been happily married for 20-30-40 years.
An online friend of mine got married to her husband 10 days after meeting him. They have been together for 6 years now. :-)
Thing is, they might think this is too fast, but they pass this judgment based on what little they know about your relationship...if you are happy and think he's the one, don't hold back.
