Does anyone know of a book (or books) like this "Don't Know Much About History: Everything You Need to Know About History but Never Learned" that are about global history, rather than American?
My SO is brilliant - I can give him any date or name any significant person in history and he can rattle off a bunch of facts and information. I would like to learn more about global history, but I'm not really sure where to start. He has suggested that I find a generalised book, like one for children, to read and pick things that interest me from it to research further.
How would you suggest that I broaden my historical horizons?
