Of friends and lovers

Where is for you the distinction between a lover and a friend? Where do you draw the line as to what belongs into a friendship and what belongs into a romantic relationship?

In my experience, the line can be really blurry. To me, it's all about two things: 1) is there a physical desire toward each other, and 2), if there is, do you act on it. Having an attraction to someone but not acting on it keeps you on the friends side. Having an attraction to someone and acting on it could push you over into the lover side. However, it should be noted that many people can and do sleep with their "friends" without ever crossing over into "lover" territory (as has hopefully been agreed upon and understood by both parties before the sexing began :p). If we're having sex, they're a lover.
