This should probably go in OT, but I don't think everyone will see...

My friend's six year old cousin was just diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma cancer. He is going through heavy chemotherapy five days a week. Lately, the one thing he looks forward to every day is coming home from it and getting mail from different places and people.

I was wondering if any of you awesome AMAers would like to send him some letters. He's young, so they don't have to be anything too special. Pictures and just nice words. Mail makes everyone feel better, and he's going through so much right now and is so young. We've talked to his mom, and she is ok with me giving out their address, but if you guys could just email me via LJ or through my personal email, I can forward it along. I'm going to try to look into different organizations that might be able to do the same, so if you guys have any ideas, or maybe are teachers and think that your students would like to participate, that would be so amazing.

Thank you guys for reading. I hope that some of you are willing and able to brighten this little boy's day! :)

Oh, ETA: My email address is liza.michelle at gmail.com

Hi Everyone and Thank you so much for all of the messages and prayers, they are coming through to us and we feel it!! Good news today we found out that his n-myc was negative, so it is not in his genes. He was a little sick this morning before his chemo, but the doctors are trying a different medicine and he is now on steriods as well to make him want to eat. He has'nt wanted anything at all and we really have to work hard at getting him to eat. He is at 57 pounds today, he dropped 3 pounds already, but he is showing signs of being more hungry, we actually stopped at McDonalds and he had 3 chicken mcnuggets! We had to be at the hospital at 8 am this morning because after his chemo we went to Cedar Crest so he could be injected with radioactive dye that will show his tumors. We go back tomorrow at 8 to take the scan, then chemo afterward at the clinic. Let's hope it has not spread anywhere else. We are heading to CHOP- Children's Hospital of Philly on Wednesday to meet with Dr. Maris- head of oncology. His Dr. here (Monteleone) say's we should be seeing the tumor on his neck begin to shrink- I will be so happy when we can see results! again, the response to him, and our family is so amazing, we really are blessed with so many of you. I wish I could thank each and everyone of you everyday personally, but I promise you this. When Jack is finished with this nasty time in his life and he is healed, we are going to have the BIGGEST party for him and we hope to see you all there!! I will try to continue to update when i can,
Love,
Becky
