My little sister cut herself a bit, but it was a very, very obvious plea for attention.

I think that cutting yourself, for any reason, is pretty serious.

I agree. There are easier ways to get attention. If you need to go to the lengths of hurting yourself, there is something very wrong.

Yes. People saying it's a "plea for attention" seem to really miss the point.

Exactly, a lot of things are, if you're willing to do something like that for attention, you clearly need it.
