Right, but deleting it just 'because they can' is still lame, no matter how you look at it. I don't take issue with them deleting things for legitimate reasons (reasons that aren't just "I didn't like it." Reasons that have to do with rules and not personal preferences.)
I'm only 'taking it up with you' because you said 'because they can,' so I responded to that.
I know that they can do whatever they want. The point is, they don't need to abuse their power just because they can. I'm not even saying that's the case, I'm just responding to your reason A. Not specifically to the post that was deleted.
The point is, it says mods are allowed to do whatever they want, including banning people for simply not liking them.
You agreed to those rules when joining the community.
You don't necessarily have to do anything "wrong" - users have been banned before for just being utterly obnoxious, or unpleasant to deal with in nearly every exchange they have with anyone. Constantly posting about how the rules are unfair and shouldn't be the way they are...that's a pretty good way to get yourself on someone's bad side, and quickly.
That's fair enough I suppose. I guess it's the child in me that dislikes the whole "because I said so" thing, but I guess it's something we all have to deal with.
I'm not saying it's necessarily the fairest way (in theory) to run things, but in general it does work. If you (or anyone else) doesn't like that it is a rule of the comm, well...you voluntarily joined here, and nobody's making you stay in an environment you're uncomfortable with

I've said more than once that I respect James for not just kicking me out of the community even though I disagree with stuff. I stand by that.
