Infectious disease? No, I can't say that I do normally. What seems to be the problem?

There's a little girl who's been staying in one of the quarantine rooms, Zoe. She thinks she has a deadly disease from her world, and I'd like to try to test for it.

Now that does pose a challenge. How do you propose we test for it? You have to keep in mind that not all of us are from the same world so what could be a deadly disease in one world could easily be another world's version of the common cold.

However, I'm sure we can put our heads together and figure out a way to test for this disease and determine whether she has it or not.

According to her, the doctors on her world test for it by injecting the person's blood into something that's already dead.

That hardly seems scientific.

If it works where where she comes from, I'd say it's our best bet.

Alright, what exactly does this disease do that the best testing method is injecting it into a corpse? One would think that they would have identified the cellular composition and developed a way to detect the disease that didn't require a sometimes disturbing component for detection.

Look, this is a six-year-old girl. Even if they had done that, I doubt she would have been able to tell me about it.
