Shawn and I had a really lovely weekend. Saturday afternoon we went to Chateau St. Michelle and had a wine, cheese and panini picnic which was really nice. Then we headed over to Seattle to check in at the W. My goodness, the W was the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. It was just dripping with class. Our room was gorgeous and we had a wonderful view of the Sound. We went down to the W bar and had a cocktail and then we headed out to Dahlia lounge which was fantastic. I had steak and Shawn had pork and both were fabulous (I even liked the pork and I usually hate it). We had a really fabulous bottle of an Italian Barbera. Everything they served was delicious.
The next day we checked out and headed back to reality. Tim and Tricia had a party at their house since they're moving out of it in a week and wanted all their friends to finally see the house finished (their house has been in a constant state of remodeling for like 2.5 years). It was a nice time, though I didn't really get to talk to Tricia much. Shawn and I mostly spent time with Rick and Marilyn. Tricia and I, I think are doing something next weekend since Shawn's bachelor party weekend in Vegas is then. It's also good timing, since next week is my last week of school and I'll be able to work on my papers in peace.
Now on to a vent....
I really really really hate limo companies. They never fail to be the sketchiest business on the face of the earth. Shawn and I are trying to book a limo for the wedding and it's just so annoying because of the ways they subtlely try to stab you in the back. For instance one limo company we're looking into for a 3 hour wedding package, they don't include traveling to you and back to the base in the fee. Oh no, its separate. So unless a limo company opens next door to my sister's house and has a base next to the Thayer, we're paying out our ass. And I just can't believe how much they charge for their basic wedding package for a limo that will force the bridal party to be crammed uncomfortably together...It fucking ridiculous. Sometimes I think we're better off renting a school bus and hiring a homeless guy off the street to drive it. It would be far less sketchy atleast.
I can't believe that I'm a month shy of my wedding. And its getting to the point where I can't do things until some else does something first, until I'm back in NY or until both Shawn and I are back in NY. This of course is causing stress because I just want to get it all done now and I hate waiting on other people before I can get my shit done.
So many of the logistical type stuff regarding the wedding is just breaking my head. Its just really hard to plan out times for stuff and estimate how long things will take, when you've never done it before.
Sigh, atleast in a month and 2 days I'll be in Hawaii and all this stressing over shit will be over with
