It's 2 in the morning in Germany and I would just like to say, that I am currently of the opinion, that the best essay I ever wrote was where I claimed the Medea was a comedy. Two years ago.
That sentence is a little too deutsch-y. That is to say, long with silly commas and lots of 'thats'. I also tried to type best as 'bess'. Which is irrelevant. BUT! Something about linguistics and German and English evolution away from the Germanic old language thing: in northern Germany they say Water for water, instead of Wasser like in standard German. Because the change that made German separate from other things didn't make it all the way from the bottom to the top. And best vs. bess...is missing a 't.' So I'm pretending my typo is like southern German (Upper German), where a t goes to s.
Oh wait. Besser and besten are actually German words. I'm clearly wide awake and thinking this through logically.
