decisions all the time

I spent all day planning what to see on my trip that's from this Friday to next Friday with other people. I'm meeting Maraia in Köln with some RC Freunde and then we are there for three nights and then we go to Aachen for six hours and see Charlemagne's cathedral and where he's buried and sweet stuff like that, and then we go to Bruges! Belgium! Where we meet up with other friends from AYF who are from other schools! For four nights! In a medieval city! Where apparently they don't like it if you speak French, because it's in Flanders, not Wallonia. So I guess we'll be speaking German and English and I won't be practicing mon français even though it's Belgium. And eating waffles! The book I've been reading since I got on the plane to Germany takes place a lot in Renaissance Bruges, back when it was a mercantile center and totally awesome.

I'm excited. But there are so many things to do everywhere if we want. It's crazy.

And classes. I have to pick classes. I hate picking. And Christmas/New Year's plans because of new train schedules being announced in a week and then everyone buys their tickets and I need a good price. Erlack.

I kind of feel like an asshole sometimes. Look at me gallivant around Europe! BTW I have pictures at http://picasaweb.google.com/marisa.gies if you want to see them and don't read my blog.

I hope that everyone I want to talk to talks to me before I leave Freiburg for a week and don't have a reliable connection to the internet. My brother is really hard to get a hold of. He doesn't reply to emails. There are actually many people who do not reply to emails. I'm hoping my Christmas plans people are not part of that group this time around.

It's 2:30 am. Goodnight.
