Summary: It's wrong in so many ways, but that doesn't stop her from wanting it.
Holly J belongs with Declan. That's what Fiona tells herself. She's her brother's girlfriend, and that has to mean something. She keeps it as her mantra; never too close, never too strong. Holly J is Declan's girlfriend, not Fiona's. Just friends, that's all they can ever be. It's almost a comfort, because it means the frightening, passionate thing burning a hole in Fiona is only a fantasy. There's no chance of anything ever happening, so it's safe to fantasize.
When she's tired and angry and just wants something to feel nice, she can imagine what it'd be like to kiss Holly J, to hold hands with her and curl up together at night and wake up to her smiling face. And she knows it's only a fantasy, but it's still a comfort at times. She can imagine quite well what Holly J's neck would smell like, what the skin on her shoulders would feel like, how she'd look with her eyes closed as Fiona kissed her.
Imagination is not quite the same as real, honest-to-God love, but it's all she has, so it'll have to make do.
