I don't work a Nine to Five
Nor do I drive a mini van
I don't stay home cookin' and cleanin'
I'm not waiting for any man
I'm stuck with a Four to Twelve
And I live an hour away
I don't get weekends off
I don't get to celebrate holidays
There are a million sleepless nights
Countless days with my son
But we're not like normal people
I'm doing it all on my own
I am security and authority
I do the laundry and play catch
I don't sit around with my head in my hands
waiting for a child support check
I do the best I can with what I have
And times can get pretty tough
There are days when other people
Make it seem like nothing's ever good enough
It's easy for others to point a finger
When your situation is different from theirs
Which to me doesn't make any sense
IF they're so much better than me, why would they even care?
They can go their separate ways
And I'll go down my own road
I do'nt need anyone
I am doing just fine on my own
