Nate hasn't spoken to Brad since the morning after his resignation was official. He didn't expect to, really. Brad has shit to do, and Nate packed up and moved across the country. But he's sitting at a table by himself at Tryst, and the smell of fresh-brewed coffee and glimpse of inked shoulder he sees when his server drops off his cafe au lait makes him unbearably homesick for something that's not even home, not really, not when Roland Park is just up the BW Parkway.

That doesn't stop him from pulling his phone out of his backpack and dialing a number he hasn't deleted from his contacts yet.

He hopes Brad picks up.
