14 days left.
This lab is going to change dramatically when I'm gone. Mostly because nearly a decade of institutional knowledge is leaving with me, including experience with some types of experiments that no one else in my lab knows how to do. My boss received an application from someone who wants to be a post-doc and learn how to do inverse invasion assays and assess morphology of invading cells. But I'm the only one who does that assay. There's a detailed protocol in the file on the server, but no one else in the lab, or even the department or school, has done it. (Right now there are only a few labs in the world who do it, really.) And no one else in the lab knows how to operate the confocal microscopes.
I don't want to say they're fucked, but.
Super curious to see how the boss's first few weeks of placing orders and keeping things organized goes.
science!,
oh life,
that's why they pay me the not-so-big $
