Sunday's random notes

-- Note to self: please to be remembering when there is a home Texans game and you're planning on working that day, because there's no way to get from home to work without driving near the stadium, and the traffic SUCKS.

-- Don't know what's going on with the steam system, because when I went in today the autoclaves were not running, but they were hissing and leaking steam & water. Cannot be good. Posted a sign, called facilities. Ugh.

~ Apparently I cannot write (or even plot mentally) about Jess Skinner while listening to the Gaslight Anthem. She's not a fan. This is unfortunate, since it's been on repeat forever. Jess is more of a Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, Uncle Tupelo fan. (MY BRAIN. WHAT, EVEN?)

+ Started reading Duff McKagan's It's So Easy (and other lies). His style is engaging, and I'm entertained by the preface that this is his truth and that his bandmates might've seen things a different way. It reminds me that there are three sides to every story: yours, mine, and the truth. (I just restrained myself from an Obi-Wan reference. You're welcome.) Interesting the way mid-80s Seattle is sort of perfect in his memory (other than all the heroin overdoses) in comparison to LA.

+ Postcard post, yo.

my brain, oh life, sometimes it's like pulling teeth, that's why they pay me the not-so-big $, books, in my hard hard heart
