10 Nov 2008, the night that both the Sassyback Tour and Rock Band Live had nothing scheduled, and according to Gabe were in the same city...

What city were they in? I know they were in Florida - RBL had just finished a series of dates there, and their Louisiana date was canceled, so they had a couple of days to go to the beach and such, and Cobra were on their way from Houston to their gig in Tampa. So. Tampa? Orlando, Panic's last date? Elsewhere?

why_me_why_not said Bden/JWalk, Baltimore, tshirt. She got this:

Brendon doesn't know much about professional sports, but he's learned that April means the beginning of baseball season. Jon spends hours tracking scores, trying to catch games and broadcasts of Baseball Tonight, keeping up with the Cubs. So when they have a day off between DC and Philadelphia on their spring tour, he checks around. Both their teams are out on roadtrips, but -- okay, Baltimore plays a home series against Chicago that week.

It's like fate or something!

It takes pleading and promises of good behavior, but Zack and the tour manager book them into a hotel at the Inner Harbor. Pete knows someone who knows someone, and offers to get them a box at the club level, but Brendon's heard Jon rant about the corporatizing of baseball and "experiencing the game" from the stands, so he declines. Still, he gets them good seats, right behind the visitors' dugout.

He's really excited about his surprise.

They sleep late and take advantage of room service, but by noon Jon starts making noises about the sunshine and the water, his camera and a tourmap in hand, his Wrigley t-shirt peaking out from under his hoodie.

Brendon brandishes the envelope with the tickets, ripping it open as he tells Jon, "We have to be over at Camden Yards before seven tonight, to see the Baltimore Orioles play the Chicago--White Sox? What the hell?"

He expects disappointment, and he feels stupid that he forgot that the Cubs aren't the only team from Chicago, but when he looks, Jon is smiling googly-eyed at him.

They end up visiting the aquarium - turtles and rays and jellyfish! - and touring the U. S. S. Constellation, and Jon takes a whole memory stick of pictures while Brendon paddles around the harbor. At the Light Street Pavilion, they wander through the vendors' stalls, and they try raw oysters at Philips. Jon thinks they're good, but Brendon's only comment is a leered, "I've swallowed worse."

Jon drags Brendon into a shop near the exit before they head to the game. He asks the woman in the row behind them at the stadium to take their picture, and only friends on Jon's personal, locked blog ever see the photo. Tom gives Jon no end of grief about it, but Brendon thinks they look awesome in matching O's jerseys.
