Character Studies
For the currently ongoing Summer Homework Filler Episodes arc I've been writing I've been having to spend alot of time thinking about the group of characters that have come together and how they relate to each other and to the world around them. You have the Miyamoto siblings, Yuuji and Chikaru, members of the combined Martial Arts Club and Drama Club respectively, self-proclaimed alien girl Ina Rohi, the reforming former delinquent Nao Kudo (also in the MAC), the mysterious, strong, but good natured (and in the MAC) Hisato Nakamura, and lastly but not leastly the silent girl Saki Ishii. For the purposes of this arc I dropped half of the characters involved in Bittersweet Memories by Seaside--Rossiu Takayanagi (president of MAC), Takeru Kawayama, Fujitaka Sohma, Elise Hashimoto (alias), Emi Katsu (chairman of the Disciplinary Commitee), and Tohru Lightsider--for various reasons, not the least of which was that I planned on having some of them appear over the course of the Filler Episodes flashback sequences. Well, not all of them.
I've been writing Saki Ishii's flashback, introducing her brother (and more active in FTP!) Shigeru Ishii. He's a year older, a class rep for a rather troublesome third year class, and a member of the Disciplinary Commitee. He also has a slight siscon--probably due to the fact that Saki is actually a moe-type character. I only realized this recently...as I thought back to her few appearences, Saki has always been rather cutesy. Originally a member of Noah's Harem, at that time she barely spoke, and nowadays is silent but for a sketchpad. Without her sketchpad...
Thus the moe.
I hadn't actually been aiming for her to be that way. I just liked the idea of a silent-type character. I guess that with a character horde as large as mine, it was inevitable that a Moe-type would somehow appear.
