Constructive Summer

Jul 18, 2008 16:28

So I broke with my normal behavior today and went over to mims house to watch Californication rather than sitting in my room fooling around with my cellphone and reading pdfs for the Warhammer Role Playing Game (because my light burned out and I am too lazy to replace it I have managed to dodge doing any work on my SMP for some time). On our way ( Read more... )

Two posts in one day! Huzzah!

1) I feel that journals (or blogs or whatever you call it) are something you should write for yourself, so if you want to write about something (or nothing, which is often the case for me) then you should. Stop worrying about being "trite" or "boring"--this is your journal and if someone thinks that of it then they shouldn't be reading it!

2) Everyone's a fucking narcissist, don't worry about it or think badly of yourself for it.

3) Yay crazy parents! (except not really)

4) DON'T MAKE FUN OF MIRIAM SHE IS NOT RETARDED SHE IS AMAZING! /smack (also, chipmunks yay!)

5) BE POSITIVE! /smack

6) I got paid yesterday and hid $20 so I could afford to go to the show when the time comes :D Excited excited excited!

In conclusion, keep writing because I like reading what people write. Bully bully bully.

OMFG the Hold Steady is gonna be the biggest SMCM reunion possibly this summer, prepare to watch me dance about and sing wildly?

Also i feel like if i bother to keep a journal it should have some sort of merit, and i often feel like i'm just recounting stories everyone that reads it has heard already. Essentially its just like talking to me...

I guess, for me at least, a journal isn't just for letting others know what's going on in your life, it's something you can look back at and remember what you were thinking, feeling, doing at a certain point in your life. Are you going to remember all the little stories in two years time? In four? I mean, I've been keeping mine for quite some time now and when I read it I still have problems remembering what was going on. There are a lot of things I would have forgotten about if I didn't write in this all the time.

Also, what about the people who don't get to talk to you and don't hear your stories? Hmmmm?

And, you always tell your stories over and over again anyways, why worry about writing them here? :D
