New Toys
I'm so excited by the little things. My new digital voice recorder came in the mail today. It is so much cooler than my old recorder! This one has a USB terminal and plugs right into my USB drive to download the files onto my computer. I am excited not to have to fight with those stupid tapes and try to keep track of which client and which sessions are on which tapes. Now I will be able to download them & save them into a file for each client. It is really light too!!
I have really been enjoying taking my laptop to school but haven't had a good bag to take everything in. I have a laptop bag but my books won't fit in that. So, I have been just putting my laptop in my backpack with all of my books. I was nervous that I would beat up my my laptop. So, today I went to Walmart and found a really nice notebook bag that has plenty of space for my books & a removable insert for my laptop. It is black and cream colored and will be much more professional looking for clinic.
Tonight I have just been getting started on next week's readings because I don't really have anything due tomorrow. About 6:30 I completely crashed. I laid down for a nap & set my alarm for 1/2 hour. I woke up an hour and a half later. I think it was a well needed nap though. I have only been getting 3 1/2- 5 1/2 hours of sleep a night since school started. Mrs. VanMeter told me today that she almost has clients scheduled for me. I should be starting with them next week. I am going to have a dysarthria client and an autism client. I haven't worked a whole lot with either type of disorder but I am really looking forward to it. They both sound really challenging but fun too.
