In a sense. Tatsumi-san had his chip removed. That allows certain abilities to return to the user-- ah, and Tatsumi-san had rather dangerous abilities. You could say he went out of control.

That is a good question. The chip also acts as a sort of protection against certain things, so please do not consider it rashly.

As an example, there was recently a group of monsters that only those without chips can see. Ah, likewise, only those without chips are victim. They were quite troublesome... We were forced to build towers in order to keep them out of the city.

But there may be other dangers.
