Update #3 (sorry for the double posts, everyone):

So as of last night, here is how things stood: I have to go to the NYC office to pick up my reissued ticket today, before the 10 PM flight out of Newark.

So I call the office just after 9, to make sure I'll actually get the damn ticket when I get there. And to find out if I can just go straight to the airport to get my ticket, because I'm lazy. (And to avoid the five hour trip into/back from NYC.)

"Yes, you can go to the airport, but it doesn't have the facilities to print out your ticket."
"Wait, so I actually can go right to the airport?"
"You can, but it's safer to come here."
"But I can definitely go to the airport then? Without going to the office first?"
"No, you have to come here."
...

Next:

"I don't have authorization from the KL office to reissue your ticket yet, so I don't know if you have a seat on tonight's flight."
"I talked to the KL office yesterday, so you should have authorization already."
"Well then I need to search through these telexes from them, let me call you back."

*I* call back an hour later...

"I'm sorry, I'm still waiting for the telex."
"I talked to the office yesterday, it should definitely be there...
"I mean, I'm waiting for myself to telex."
?!?!?!?!

Current situation: I do not have to go over to NYC to get my ticket; they'll notify Newark, HOWEVER since the airport doesn't have the facilities or staff needed to issue my ticket, they are going to hand write it.

Somehow I'm not sure this is worth saving myself a trip to New York...
