Writer's Block: Ghost Story

O.K. so normally I wouldn't do one of these things, but I had to admit, it was kinda interesting. But anyway, I'll admit I do believe in ghosts, and though I can't say I've seen one, I've certainly have had really odd feelings following me throughout my entire life. Like how my hair always stands up and how I feel like I'm being watched when it's a ( Read more... )

That is such an awesome set of stories/experiences! Yea I have no idea on what to make of my experiences either, but I mean as far as it comes to being watched goes, that part is hard to tell because as much as it is survival instinct, I do see the shadows and the fleeting glimpses of something standing in my mirror at just the right angle. And what's more when this stuff happens I always get this odd feeling on one side of my face which feels as though something's touching it. I mean why would it happen to only one side and not both? o.O

But your family is kinda lucky I think. I want to see what it would be like to be in a haunted house for a few days. x] Sounds crazy awesome.

Lol and as far as the Oujia boards go, I don't know... Despite my parent's warning I would like to play with it again. I remember doing it when I was little with some old friends, and there was another time when the name "K-u-r-o" popped up when we asked "Who's here talking to us?" I have yet to figure out what "Kuro" means. Maybe it's the ghost that follows me? XD And I know that I didn't make that word since it was my friend's mom doing it. Odd isn't it? Don't even get me started on the dreams I've had.. I kind of wonder if they're memories of a past life. :\ XD But who knows. I mean they were too coherrent to be my usual kind of dreams..

And here I was...planning to take a bath at this hour of the night ¬_¬ No to mention that my windows are all open and just as I closed them, there was this scratchy noise that just occurred.

I'm officially spooked now.

LOL Well, that's what the skeptics say about those sorts of feelings. But I never listen to skeptics myself, simply because they write everything off out of hand. :D I prefer explanations that fit the situation, not speculation that only works if you ignore most of what a person says about a given experience. You'd be in the best position to say, certainly, and that does seem very strange.

I used to see shadows sometimes, when we lived at the other house. They'd be passing by the foot of my bed or I would think one was anyway. It was hard to say if it really was anything though, cause whenever I saw them, it was always as I was waking up. Apparently there are times when your mind doesn't completely wake up and stop dreaming even though you're "awake". I think this is probably what was happening to me.

On the other hand, my mom used to think she saw them too on occasion. I haven't done that at all here - might be the fact that I sleep in the day, though if it were a physical thing you'd think it would happen anytime. And mom really hasn't either, except for perhaps once. (Same property, different part of it.) I've heard that there was an old Native American trail that originally ran across the backyard of where we had been living. Who knows? Maybe it was connected or maybe my tired brain just pulled from that. :D

Still wouldn't say the place was "haunted" though.

:D Isn't that Japanese for "black"? (Mind might be failing me there.) No idea what that could mean though.

LOL All I can tell you about the dreams is to check the details against history. There might be something to them if little things - the sort that don't make it into history books - match up. But don't get too caught up in it. The here and now is important, because you're living it NOW, and I've found that some are so eager to believe that they forget that. :(

Not to mention that some even start subconsciously "filling in the blanks" and loss all credibility in the process. And don't rely on hypnosis to "retrieve" memories either. It's been shown that they often accidently plant memories or cause you to pull up stuff you already know and weave it into the "past life" to make it more believable. That's why it's not really acceptable in most cases as evidence. :(

Lol yea I don't really listen to the skeptics myself. XD How could they know, ya know? And yea if someone can explain it logically, I probably could believe that, but who even knows. I've never heard of the "dreaming when you're away" theory either.. How odd.

Lol well, I don't konw if I can say that place of yours is haunted either, but even just having the potential to see something sounds totally awesome. I want that. XD The experiences still sound kinda awesome. ♥

And yes "Kuro" is Japanese for "black" but who knows. o.O

And yes I understand that the "here and now" is important so you have nothing to worry on that one, but what makes it really odd and made me think it a memory instead of a dream was the fact that it was really, really coherrent and seemed to follow logical steps and events and not jump around as my dreams usually do. Like I actually saw myself walking/whatever to get to a place and not just randomly disappearing and reappearing in whereever I was going. The next part that made me think different was probably the fact that it just felt too real. Remember the feeling of the hand touching my face? Well when the guy in my dreams touched my face I got that same feeling. And the same goes for when he wrapped his arms around me. I could feel the same warmth, the tingling in my cheek... Just odd though huh? XD And the only time the dream "jumped" to a new place was always the next night or a few nights later. My dreams usually "jump" all over the place in one night. XD It's soo odd though. ♥

Oh please I'm a psych major dear. :P I've heard all of the flaws and stories of hypnosis. I don't think I could ever do it.. Not to mention my friends totally got their asses handed to them when they volunteered for the hypnotist at post prom... XD
