Right Stuf's 5 Points Pictures Licenses Finding Mr. Destiny, Penny Pinchers, Punch & Others

Mar 15, 2012 08:21

On March 14, Right Stuf, Inc. announced the establishment of 5 Points Pictures - a live-action label "with a focus on the distribution of eclectic...programming". The same announcement also revealed 5 Points Pictures has a distribution deal going with CJ Entertainment, one of the biggest Korean media company's out there.

So what does that mean for English-subbed Asian media fans? It means more Asian movies, and apparently, some really recent ones, too!

5 Points' first set of license announcements includes Finding Mr. Destiny (Gong Yoo ♥), Penny Pinchers (Song Joong-ki ♥), Punch (Yoo Ah-in ♥), Bleak Night, Moss, Tazza: The High Rollers and The Suicide Forecast (Ryoo Seung-bum ♥). Punch isn't even out on Korean R3 DVD yet!

I'm totally psyched that a few lighter K-movies (Finding Mr. Destiny, Penny Pinchers, Punch) are actually getting released here in the U.S. Outside of K-dramas, we don't really see too many Korean romances or coming-of-age stories getting licensed in the states.

More cool news: the company's already asking for requests on its twitter (@5PointsPictures)!

You can bet I have a list a mile long that I'm going to send its way. What about you guys?
