First GANTZ Film Scheduled for August 30 Region 1/A DVD & Blu-ray Release Date
VIZ's New People Entertainment plans to release the first GANTZ live-action movie in the U.S. and Canada this August 30, 2011. The film will be available on 2-disc DVD and 3-disc Blu-ray/DVD and will have both Japanese audio (thank God) and English audio, along with English subtitles. The Blu-ray/DVD set retails for $29.99 and the DVD for $24.99 and is available for pre-order at most of the usual suspects.
As far as special features go, all I've been able to find online is that it'll include interviews and trailers, but with the extras requiring an entire second disc, I'm hoping that the interviews will go pretty in depth.
I've been planning to post this for ages, but I wanted to wait for more details from VIZ/New People. With the release only being a bit over a month away, though, I decided I'd rather give you guys a post with fewer details than none at all. If a press release with better information does land sometime soon, I'll be sure to include an update.
No word so far on a street date for the second film, but it seems likely that it will see a release date in the near future.
