Hi. My name is Deborah. I am a dramatic writing major at Drexel University. I am hopping through LJ's looking for people in University City with similar intersts, mainly playwriting. Nice to meet you.
Hey! I'm the girl who lives in Bala Cynwyd who went to Wash U. You never responded to my last comment, so I'm just following up. Don't let the fact that I live in BC scare you, if that's the reason, since I did not choose to live here and couldn't afford to if I tried. If you want to know anything about Wash U, just let me know. I loved it. I graduated 2004 from Artsci. I lived on and off campus, and was in a variety of student groups and worked in the library for workstudy.
I'm sorry if I seemed rude! I didn't want to like, freak you out I guess and was sort of trying to formulate a response then... yeah.
BC isn't like... THAT scary... and I'm not like EW SUBURBAN PEOPLE all the time. just, um, some of the time.
mmm living off campus... I would be interested in that, since... I'm moving into my own place in about 2 months and looking at housing prices, the cost of my sublet this summer vs. the cost of washU housing is insane... while it's the world's tiniest room, it's on penn campus and includes utils. and is under 350/mo whereas washU housing even in a triple is still over 400/mo and you don't get your own room.
once you end a reslife contract, ie if I decided to like off campus sophmore year, would I be screwed for the next 4 years?
I'm interested in living in a "housemates" sort of thing, not really a solo apartment or shared room.
Hey! Sorry...this week has been crazy at work with me having to pull some extra hours and I get home and barely check my email, let alone do LJ stuff.
There are a lot of apts. around Wash U and the Central West End(CWE) which is accesible by Wash U Shuttle. I'm not sure of what the prices are. I lived in a Wash U owned apt, which I payed like 4400 for the year and it camed furnished and I didn't have to pay for anything except for Cable. It was a pretty good deal. Other people might be the best to ask about specifics. I only know of my one friend who paid about 700 for her one bedroom apt, so that isn't that helpful to you. Sublets are always a way to go, since so many people leave for the summer or take a semester abroad. I hope this helps.
Also, I'm having a dinner party/potluck Saturday night at my place if you want to come. Just email me at my username at hotmail if you are at all interested. It will be a bunch of coworkers and I'll be the only Wash U person, but I thought I'd offer.
